Collection and use of Personal Information

We collect personal information from you when you register with the Ngāti Tamaterā Treaty Settlement Trust, including information about your:

• Name

• Address

• Contact Information

• Date of Birth

• Whakapapa

We collect your personal information for the following purposes

• To notify you of important issues, events and decisions affecting Ngāti Tamaterā

• For you to be eligible to vote in Tamaterā elections

• To obtain benefits entitled to members of Tamaterā

• To build a comprehensive database of Tamaterā people, and strengthen the whanaungatanga between Tamaterā descendants

• To help to develop, improve and refine the services delivered by NTTST. Providing some information is optional.

If you do not enter correct or complete information, we may be unable to complete your registration, or this may affect your ability to participate in elections, or obtain benefits provided to Ngāti Tamaterā iwi members. You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong. If you would like to ask for a copy of your information, or to have it corrected, please contact us at admin@tamatera.iwi.nz.

Storage and Security

We keep your information safe by storing your information in Tiki-OS and only allowing the validation committee and certain staff access to it. We protect our data with all reasonable technical and process controls. You can access or update this information at any time by logging into your MaoriMe account, the Tiki-OS web app through which all registrations are processed, or by emailing admin@tamatera.iwi.nz.

Sharing

We will only use and share personal information where necessary to carry out the functions for which we collected it, or if required by law. We will not disclose personal information provided or collected unless you otherwise provide consent (for example, if we contact you to request consent to refer you to an external agency or third party).
